About the project
CODE (Creating Employment Opportunities with Digital Empowerment) responds to the accelerated digitalisation and automation of workplaces that followed the COVID-19 pandemic by giving VET learners aged 14–30 grounding in STEM/ICT skills, with a focus on coding and programming logic. The 24-month Cooperation Partnership in Vocational Education and Training (1 December 2021 – 1 December 2023) was coordinated by RobyCode UG (Germany), aiming to ease young people's transition into a labour market increasingly shaped by automation and digital transformation.

Objectives
- Train VET professionals to deliver STEM/ICT courses with a focus on coding
- Ease young VET learners' entry into the labour market
- Improve the match between labour demand and the skills young people offer
- Reduce inequality linked to low-skilled work, automation-driven job displacement and digital misinformation
Approach
The project builds STEM/ICT training material and skills-assessment tools for VET learners, complemented by a blended mobility that lets young people create digital content and interact with peers and professionals from different countries. A research report on each partner country's socio-economic context underpins a practical handbook for VET trainers in the STEM/ICT field, plus content such as puzzle games, tutorials and simulations to make coding concepts accessible.
